Fair Action in Bangladesh
Communication and documentation for social media of Fair Action’s work with the Stitching Justice project on-site in Bangladesh between April 12–22.
The textile industry in Bangladesh employs four million workers and accounts for 80 % of Bangladesh’s exports. The work is extremely stressful and often without breaks. In many factories, it is hot, and climate change raises temperatures even further. At the same time, noise levels are so high that conversation is impossible. An average monthly salary is approximately 1,500 SEK, and most factory workers need to take out loans to make ends meet at the end of the month.
The organization Fair Action highlights corporate responsibility, consumer power, and the voices of textile workers. Between 2026–2028, Fair Action is collaborating with the Bangladesh Center for Solidarity (BCWS) through the Stitching Justice project to strengthen textile workers’ knowledge of their rights.
