Nocturnal
A psychological and absurd theatre thriller set in a society of informants.
Two neighbors, Tall Man and Short Man, pass each other in the stairwell each morning. As they pass one another in the stairs, they exchange polite greetings. One day, their superficial relationship takes a turn. Short Man explains that he’s aware that Tall Man is staying illegally in the country and seizes the opportunity to gain power. Short Man begins to demand more and more, and an unequal relationship begins to take shape. Tall Man is left in a vacuum of uncertainty, simultaneously dependent on Short Mans goodwill as he finds himself constantly at risk of being exposed and deported.
Through text and movement, this performance explores the loneliness in individuals as well as in society. What happens to a world, which is tightening its grip on its citizens, also loses its sense of humanity?
